Ashkan Ahmadi: reżyser, operator, manager, producent i montażysta. Urodził się w Baneh (Iran) w 1974. Otrzymał licencjat z inżynierii mechanicznej. Działalność artystyczną rozpoczął od teatru w trakcie studiów uniwersyteckich w 1992. Działalność filmową rozpoczął w Iranian Young Cinema Association (Związek Młodego Kina Irańskiego) w 1999. Studiował w Łódzkiej Szkole Filmowej na wydziale reżyserii. Jest autorem 7 filmów krótkometrażowych, które zdobyły nagrody podczas krajowych i międzynarodowych festiwali filmowych. Brał również udział w kilku międzynarodowych produkcjach filmów krótkometrażowych i fabularnych jako operator, producent oraz montażysta.
Już od poniedziałku (8 maja) trzy dni filmowych wieczorów: „Kino, człowiek Orientu, marzenia i rzeczywistość”. W ciągu ostatnich lat, dzięki rozwojowi technologii, pojawiły się nowe możliwości dla młodych filmowców irańskich, pozwalające im przekształcać myśli i marzenia w filmową rzeczywistość. Uczestnictwo w międzynarodowych festiwalach i udoskonalenie jakości filmów w krajach takich jak Iran przyczyniło się do rozkwitu tamtejszego kina, które zostało docenione na świecie. Wybrane do festiwalowych projekcji tytuły, nagrodzone na wielu międzynarodowych festiwalach, ukazują kondycję kina irańskiego ostatnich lat. Historia kina w Iranie zbiegła się z historią kina na świecie. Kinematografia irańska bardzo szybko stała się przekaźnikiem uczuć i myśli społeczeństwa. Kino Bliskowschodnie jako całość było pod dużym wpływem Hollywood, Bollywood, kina europejskiego, a także innych niezależnych tendencji kina światowego. Nasze pokolenie filmowców, którzy mają teraz 30 i 40 lat, było pod wielkim wpływem kina europejskiego, w tym kina wschodnioeuropejskiego, a w szczególności polskiego. Innymi słowy, należymy do pokolenia irańskich filmowców, którzy byli zafascynowani filmami Kieślowskiego czy Polańskiego i pod ich wpływem kreowali swój filmowy język. Stąd w dziełach wielu współczesnych filmowców tyle zimna i szarości, a także poetyckie budowanie rzeczywistości. Wschodni mistycyzm, a także specyficzne warunki społeczne składają się na unikalny charakter młodego kina irańskiego.

In the past 5 or 6 years, due to the advances in technology, an opportunity has been created for young filmmakers, to record their thoughts and fantasies into reality.
This topic, alongside growth in quality of images and sounds in the films, has led to trying to choose topics and subjects, is consistent with these facilities.
On the other hand, participate in international festivals, and young filmmakers attempt to improve the quality of films in countries such as Iran, created acceptable results and led to rising and highlighting these works.
For this reason, gathering a number of these selected films, which each one have appeared in festivals and have won awards, could show an appropriate face of film events at recent years in a country like Iran.
History of cinema in Iran, coincides with the history of cinema in the world.This means that the film and cinema started too early in Iran, and due to its novelty, replaced as a means to express feelings and thoughts in the society very soon.
Throughout the history of Iranian cinema, various seasons were created and in each of the seasons, we can see the influence of one of the prevalent cinematic models in the world.
Cinema in Middle East as a whole, was under the influence of Hollywood, Bollywood, European cinema and also different and independent waves of cinema.
But our generation of filmmakers who are now 30 and 40 years, very influenced by the cinema of Europeans countries. For example Eastern Europe cinema, especially Poland, has affected our adolescence.
In other words, we belong to a generation of Iranian filmmakers who were fascinated by Kieslowski and Polanski’s movies. And we understand the cinema with this kind of cinematic expression. That’s why, in the many filmmakers of our time, you can see gray and cold space and imaginary and poetic narratives in the context of human and social problems.
Although this film expression with passing through the filter of mystical Eastern thought and social conditions in our region, is manifested as a unique form.
